Coaching and cowriting
It's quite possible Nancy Harms still hasn't met a beat to which she can't sing.
Highlighting her virtuosity while producing her debut album, In the Indigo, called for rhythms worthy of her attention to detail.
To go straight to the heartbeat of her jazz, I rented an upright bass to summon a muse. One visited in the form of a pensive new rhythm for Henderson & Dixon's classic "Bye Bye Blackbird" and I'm honored to hear Nancy continue to play it years later.
Collaborating with Nancy and Arne Fogel on originals such as the title track and bringing Nancy's new perspective to old standards was a fantastic experience.

Working with Anna Stine, it was quickly evident how deeply she cherished the great outdoors. Kickoff track "Bicycle" representing such quiet liberation, I encouraged Anna to bring her chariot into the recording studio and add its meditative freewheel sound to the entire track.
As we collaborated and cowrote, I arranged instrumentals drawing on traditions as wide as funk, folk, pop, and metal to deliver the right mood for each song while remaining coherent with Anna's breakout talent as an indie singer-songwriter and hired a band capable of spanning the breadth of her skills.
